What is aluminium-zinc plated sheet
Aluminium-zinc plated sheet is a steel plate plating on the basis of zinc with the addition of aluminium (passivation protection), the general composition of 55% aluminium, 43.5% zinc, 1.5% silicon, with excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, corrosion resistance of galvanized sheet 2-5 times, but also has the high temperature corrosion resistance of aluminium plate, smooth surface, good appearance, but the formation of its plating and resistance to welding a little worse. In foreign countries generally about 40% of aluminium zinc plating used directly, about 60% of the plate is further as a colour coated substrate.
Aluminium-zinc coated steel coils undergo various surface treatments to enhance their performance and suitability for different applications. Here are some common surface treatments:
1. Chromate Treatment:
- Description: A chemical treatment involving the application of chromate compounds.
- Purpose: Enhances corrosion resistance and provides a good base for subsequent painting or coating.
2. Oiling:
- Description: A thin layer of oil is applied to the surface.
- Purpose: Prevents oxidation and corrosion during storage and transport. It also aids in processing by reducing friction.
3. Passivation:
- Description: A chemical process that forms a protective oxide layer on the surface.
- Purpose: Increases corrosion resistance and extends the life of the steel by preventing surface rust.
4. Anti-fingerprint Coating:
- Description: A special coating that resists fingerprint marks.
- Purpose: Keeps the surface clean and aesthetically pleasing, particularly useful in appliances and electronics.
5. Resin Coating:
- Description: A thin layer of resin is applied to the surface.
- Purpose: Enhances the surface's resistance to scratches and corrosion, and provides a good base for painting.
6. Phosphate Treatment:
- Description: A chemical treatment that applies a phosphate layer.
- Purpose: Improves paint adhesion and enhances corrosion resistance.
7. Pre-painting (Coil Coating):
- Description: The steel is coated with paint or other coatings.
- Purpose: Provides immediate protection and aesthetic appeal, eliminating the need for additional painting after installation.
These surface treatments ensure that aluminium-zinc coated steel coils offer superior performance, longevity, and versatility in various industrial applications.
Aluminium-zinc-steel plated light steel has quite a few excellent characteristics:
Aluminium-zinc plated light steel offers several outstanding features. It boasts corrosion resistance that is three times stronger than that of pure galvanising. The surface exhibits attractive zinc flowers, making it ideal for use as exterior panels on building roofs. Known as AZ150, aluminium-zinc steel plates maintain their colour over time, even when exposed to chemical corrosion. This is due to the formation of a protective aluminium oxide layer on the surface, which isolates the keel from external chemical substances and prevents rusting. This protective film ensures the longevity and durability of the material, making it a superior choice for construction applications.
Detailed Parameters:
SURFACE TREATMENT | DESCRIPTION OF USE |
CHROMATE PASSIVATION(C) | Surface treatment for high-strength steel plates after hot-dip plating to reduce white rust during transport and storage |
Chrome-free passivation(C5) | Surface treatments that require limiting the amount of hexavalent chromium, etc. in passivation solutions that are harmful to the environment and humans |
Anti-finger print(N) | Surface treatment after the passivation process, which acts as a lubricant during processing, prevents fingerprints from staining during operation, and prevents premature blackening of the surface during use. |
Chrome-free and fingerprint resistant(N5) | Surface treatment after the passivation process, in the process of lubrication, to prevent the operation of the fingerprint staining, to prevent the use of the surface of the process of premature blackening, and at the same time, the requirement to limit the fingerprint-resistant film harmful to the environment and human body, such as hexavalent chromium content |
Oiled(O) | Surface treatment added after the passivation process to further reduce rusting during long-distance transport and long-term storage |
